The name « Scierie Preverco inc. » is recent in the market, but the sawmill itself exists for more than 35 years.

First the company was founded in 1973 by Mr. Hermann Fournier under the name Scierie H. Fournier inc. The primary purpose was to supply planks to the furniture factory next door.

At the beginning of the 1990’s, the sawmill was renamed Scierie Daveluyville inc. and reoriented its activities to specialize in contract sawing.

Mr. Martin Vigneault and Mr. André Savoie (Mr. Hermann’s grandson) acquired Scierie Daveluyville inc. in September 2002 and they changed the company name for Cyclone Hardwood inc.

Finally, it’s in January 2009 that Preverco inc. acquires the sawmill, which becomes Scierie Preverco inc.
